Atılım University's undergraduate program in economics attract individuals who follow, question and interpret the economic and social developments in Turkey and abroad, and are interested in examining the human mind and the economic decisions it produces.

Course of study: 4 years 
Language of instruction: The department offers an English-only program and a Turkish-only program.
Career opportunities: Graduates can find employment opportunities as economists, bankers,  financiers or managers in the public or private sector.  Major employers in the public are Ministry of Development, Department of Treasury, Central Bank of Turkey, Ministry of Public Finance, Competition Authority, Turkish Standards Institute, National Center for Productivity, Turkish Institute of Statistics, Privatization Agency, State Department, government-owned enterprises and public banks. 
Experiences of the alumni: Graduates of the economics department at Atılım University work as experts in organizations like the Turkish Treasury, Ministry of Development, İş Bankası, HSBC, ASELSAN and TAI, and as academics in various universities across the country.
Educational philosophy:  Atılım University Economics Department works to raise economists who can question and interpret economic and social phenomena, and furnish projections for the future.  The department strives to accomplish this goal by supplying a sound theoretical base and encouraging analytical thinking.  The curriculum includes courses in basic economics, statistics and mathematics in the first two years, and international trade and monetary and fiscal policies in the third year.  An option for electives is offered to seniors to diversify their knowledge base including foreign language courses.  The department offers an ability to pursue double majors as well as a minor field of study.  Activities of the Economics Club allow student to practice some of the theoretical knowledge they gathered in their studies.  
Internship opportunities: Students enrolled in the economics program are eligible for internship opportunities at public and private organizations.  The faculty provides information and guidance to students for these opportunities.
Technological capabilities: The department offers modern econometrics programs such as EViews and Stata in addition to the standard Office applications.  The university's various computer labs allow students to practice the quantitative knowledge they acquired in their classes.
